Rieko and Richard are a young couple and passionate about organic food and coffee. Rieko, Richard and the family have stafted Café WoodWind in 2017 by the Manawatū River pathway entrance where soft breeze flows through native trees along the river.

The Café motto "Whangaihia To Tinana Ki Te Kai Organic" which translates to "Nourish your body with organic kai" addresses their belief the food they deliver will contribute to your better wellbeing and sustainablity. All the ingredients served in the café is locally sourced and organic. All the takeaway packaging are bio-degradable, and made of recycled materials.

Rieko and Richard have seen a lot of constrains in the business just like other people have had during pandemic, and that is also the reason why the couple thrive in helping people relax by serving tasty, quality food and coffee.

About WoodWind

Rieko plays clarinet in the local orchestra. The cafe has been named to pay an homage to the beautiful music instrument and the wind from the river. Here is a video clip Rieko plays the clarinet- enjoy!
